Easter Egg Hunting!

Today, we are celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and also enjoyed the afternoon Easter Egg Hunting with our little one. Not only was it an incredible sunny day, but it sure was "HOT". We had to bring quite a bit of water to cool us down.

Well, we dressed her up and went to our community Easter Egg Hunting event. We were a little bit early, so Sophia decided to play at the park for a little while and then it was off to take a picture with the famous Easter Bunny. Yep, she was so excited to see the Easter Bunny that, she wanted to take more pictures.

After that, we were provided with lovely snacks of cookies and punch. Sophia chose her favorite cookie, Chocolate Chip Cookie, along with a cup of punch.

Next, we headed off to our favorite activity of the day, the craft table, where Sophia was creating her own "Easter Bunny" goodie bag. Sophia had so much fun at the craft table and wanted to make more bags.

After the crafts, Sophia finally can do some Easter Egg Hunting. She was ready to fill up her pail with eggs. She did not want a Easter basket, she wanted her "Dora" pail that aunt Dawn gave her. Finally, it was time to pick up the Easter Eggs and off she went, running so fast. For the most part she picked up more yellow eggs then any other color. I told her to go after more eggs, but she told me that the yellow ones looked like the "Golden Egg", so she wanted only the yellow eggs. That made us laugh.

Sophia had so much fun and wanted to do it again.

Musical Easter Egg Maracas

Since, we are celebrating Easter this month, why not make more fun and creative Easter crafts. If you are a parent, you already know that most kids love to make noise. My little one loves music and definitely likes to make a lot of noise. If your like me, the noise does not bother me one bit. It just puts a big smile on my face. Now, let's get involved with this fun noise making craft.

Supplies:

Plastic Eggs

Dry grains (popcorn seeds, rice, chickpeas, beans or any other items you want to use)

Glue gun or tape

Glue stick

Tablespoon or spoon

Put on your Happy Musical Face!

These are just a few inexpensive items, you can find at any grocery store. Let your little one, open their favorite color plastic egg. Have them fill half of the open egg with 2 tablespoons of any dry grains (again experiment with various items for different sounds). Sophia filled half of the open egg with rice and popcorn seeds.

Once, all the eggs are all filled, you (parent), will place a little bit of hot glue or tape along the edge of the top and bottom of the egg. Close egg carefully and press down tightly. When all the eggs are glued and dried, get ready to make some noise.

Put on your dancing shoes, reach out and grab your "maracas" and let us make some noise. Shake up and down, shake left to right, shake all the way around. Dance, make up a song and have fun making music with your handmade musical "maracas". Sing along to "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" by Gene Autry.

Egg-cellent Decorative Easter Eggs

It is just a great feeling to know that Spring is finally here! I have been waiting for a while to say "Hello" to my favorite season to arrive. What could be a perfect activity more than any other activity to celebrate Spring? How about making your own "Egg-cellent Decorative Easter Eggs". This method of decorating your Easter eggs can be very messy, but extremely exciting and fun! Just be certain to wear an apron and spread quite a bit of newspaper around your work table to catch your little ones scattered paint. Now, let's start decorating our "Egg-cellent Decorative Eggs"

Supplies:

Paint bottles

Paint brushes

Apron or smock

Egg carton

Construction or manila paper

Scissor

Pencil

Glass with water

Newspaper or any other roll of paper (Cover the work table)

Start spreading newspaper or any other roll paper on your work table. Pour all the paint colors you will be using in the egg carton. As you can see, Sophia was so excited to pour the paint in the egg carton, that she forgot to put on her apron.

Get your construction or manila paper and start tracing the shape of an egg. Place several sheets of paper together and cut out some egg shapes, then place it on the table. Give them each a cut out egg shape and let them start decorating their eggs anyway they want.

Sophia was way too eager to start painting and since I am always protective of her clothes, I made sure she had her apron on this time. Wear some play clothes or make sure you have "Oxi-Clean" at hand.

Make as many decorative eggs as you want. Encourage them to use all the colors. Paint stripes, polka dots, wiggly lines, faces or anything you can think of. Be creative. Place the completed decorative eggs in a different area to dry out. Once they are all finished with decorating the eggs and they have all dried, glue them on a large piece of roll paper or stick tape to the back of the eggs and post them all over your walls.

Now, we have created our fun, exciting Egg-cellent Decorative Easter Eggs.
