Mother's Day Painted Vases!

I am back and this time I have an even better surprise and craft idea that you will absolutely love!  Now I can show you all how to make those pretty Mother's Day Vases. I love flowers, it makes your house look great, smell wonderful and refreshing. And, to top it off with your own handmade painted vases.  What can be better then that?  As most of you already know, Sophia loves to paint and since mother's day is around the corner why not have her paint vases and give it to me on mother's day along with some magnificent flowers.  Now, that your all excited about my idea, lets begin with the tutorial.
Supplies we need
Empty Glass jars or bottles (used spaghetti sauce bottles, soda bottles or any kind you like)
Glossy Enamel paint (glass paint; read instruction carefully at the back- any color you want)
Paint Brushes
Glass filled with water to place your brushes
Newspaper or old sheet (to cover our working area)
Apron (Don't forget that, especially with little ones around)
Big happy face
First, we start off by making sure we have everything at hand for the painted vases.  Make sure you remove all necessary labels from the jars/bottles and have them cleaned and dried off.  Sophia was so excited and could not wait to start. So, I wrapped the apron around her immediately just to prevent a big mess.  We sure don't want to clean all that paint off her clothes.  Sophia reached for the biggest vase and started to paint the entire glass surface.  The vase started to come alive and looked really pretty. By looking at the picture, she looked like a future artist.
Make sure to hold the jars/bottles by the mouth to avoid touching any wet paint or area.  Create your own design such as polka dots, various shapes (stars, diamonds, squares and so on) make it your own and use as many colors as you like, alternate the colors if necessary.  You can even create a beautiful custom dress for the soda bottle to wear.  That will definitely stand out and will look unique.  Sophia was quite active with painting her jar and vase so she end up mixing most of the paints together.  So, take a look at the soda bottle painted dress.  Doesn't it look fabulous?  Now, you can experience it yourself and repeat the process until you have all the jars and bottles painted.
Once, the bottles/jars/vase are painted, let the them dry off outside or any other area.  When they are completely dry, head over to your flower bed in your yard and pick out some beautiful flowers and place it in your painted vase, or you can go to store and pick out fresh flowers as well. Better yet, hint to Daddy how much you would love some flowers for Mother's Day.  And voila, you have created a beautiful craft piece for any mommy to enjoy on Mother's Day and beyond!
Sophia was so excited to do this project that she headed to the store with Daddy and picked out some roses for mommy to place in her own painted vase, which she painted for mommy.   It melted my heart to see her actively working on this project and I will definitely treasure this moment for forever.  Now, to all your wonderful mommies out there, I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day and enjoy this wonderful craft project with your children.  This can be made for any other special event, so start your special project right now.

I hope you enjoyed it! Come and visit me again and see what else we have in store for you all.
Sincerely,

On-the-Go Inflatable Potty Seat Review

It's me again. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog. Well, I hope your comfortable and relaxed because I have something very important to tell you. Ok, are you comfortable? Do you have something to drink? Great, let us begin.

As most of you know that potty training your little one can be challenging at times for both you and your precious one. Well, honestly I tried everything from bribing her with special snacks, asking her every 5 minutes if she needed to use the bathroom and buying her pull ups. But what I know about Sophia is that she loves to read books, so my plan was to take her favorite books in the bathroom and started to read to her and guess what, it worked. I did it each day and she felt comfortable. She sat on a her potty seat and she loves it.

Now, we had our vacation coming up and we were heading to South Padre Island and we needed a potty seat for Sophia and believe me I did not want to carry a lot of extra stuff with me on our trip, especially a normal potty seat. So, that is where the On-the-Go Inflatable Potty Seat comes in. It is "designed for the fast-pace lifestyle of today's family. It can be used in the home but it is built for travel".

I was given the opportunity to review the pink character On-the-Go Inflatable Potty Seat and believe me it was a big help. The minute we received it Sophia had a big smile on her face and wanted Daddy to open the package and immediately wanted to use the potty. Too funny! I was a little worried, how long it would take to blow it up, but sure enough it did not take that long. What I like about the potty seat that it is a soft, easy to clean, comfortable and sturdy seat. It also has handles for added safety and back support as well.
Here is a little more about the On-the-Go Inflatable Potty Seat features:

•Travel-ready
•Inflates/deflates quickly
•Soft comfort
•Backrest support
•Handles for safety
•Sturdy construction holds seat in place
•Easy-to-clean

Well, now that you know a little bit more about the potty seat, you are welcome to purchase the On-the-Go Inflatable Potty Seat directly from their website for $7.99. An unbeatable price!

Hope you enjoyed the review! Come and visit me again and see what else we have in store for you all.

Seventh Generation Review/Giveaway-CLOSED!

I pretty much love to clean my house and I always like to try new products. So, when it comes to cleaning my house, I try my best to stay away from harsh chemicals. Being a parent and having my little Sophia around, I don't want cleaning chemicals around that are nothing but hazardous to her. And, Sophia loves to help me clean with her little broom, mops and scrubbers. So, when I was browsing on the internet, I came across this company called Seventh Generation and read about it but I wanted to try it out for myself. They carry a complete line of non-toxic household products and on top of that they are eco-friendly.
Upon my request Seventh Generation provided me with the following products to review. I choose to review the Seventh Generation Free & Clear Starter Kit. I received the following items:Free & Clear Starter Kit
  • Disinfecting Multi-Surface
  • Disinfecting Bathroom
  • Disinfecting Wipes - 35 ct.
  • Please note: TheDisinfectants have Thymol sent (from Thyme oil). These are NOT considered free & clear, but they are great for immune-depressed households or those with small children, hence why I’ve included them here. The scent dissipates quickly.
  • Laundry Detergent – F&C 32 oz
  • Liquid Fabric Softener – F&C 40 oz
  • Dish liquid
  • All- Purpose Cleaner
  • Auto-Dish Pacs
  • Glass Cleaner
  • Natural Paper Towels
  • Seventh Gen Recycled Bag
When I received the products, I was quite surprised of how many cleaning supplies there were to review, so I had my work cut out for me. Since, we have a front load washer, I was indeed excited to receive the laundry detergent that is effective in both high-efficiencty and standard machines. After washing my clothes, it felt soft and clean. Then, I went off to clean the bathroom, I totally sprayed the entire shower with the shower spray and tub cleaner. Then, I poured the toilet bowl cleaner in and started to scrub, oh my, I truly loved what I saw. I did not have to do a lot of scrubbing and it looked amazing. Love the clear and clean shine it showed. Usually when I cleaned my bathroom, my husband always complained about the strong chemical fumes in the area and he could not stand it, so he always tries to leave the room or turns the fan on. But after cleaning with Seventh Generation cleaners the smell was not so strong. What could be better then that?
I had a hard time recently that my drinking glasses had that foggy color and I could not figure out why it was not coming off. I tried so many products and it did not remove it, so I ended up buying new glasses. Until, I tried the Dishwasher Concentrate pacs and Natural Dish Liquid. That foggy color was gone. I showed them to my husband, and he was impressed with it. So, my frustration was resolved.  I then tried the Disinfecting Wipes on any surface and I just loved it. It is easy to clean with!! I am a big fan of paper towels, yes, I can use paper towels so much that my husband can't stand it. So, I really like the Recycled Paper towels from Seventh Generation. They are 100% recycled paper (minimum 80% post-consumer, 20% pre-consumer). So no trees were harmed.

I love the fact that after cleaning my house, my family finally did not have to leave our house, because of strong chemical odors. I truly love these products because they are non-toxic, safe and eco-friendly household products. For immediate purchase go to Seventh Generation and view more of their products or visit your local store.
