Rock ‘N Learn Review and Giveaway-CLOSED!

Well it is that time again, when school is about to start and finding great educational programs to teach your little ones is a must. Since, I have a little pre-schooler on my hand I always try to find interesting educational programs to keep her busy. I was offered to do a review of both Rock 'N Learn DVD's (Volume 1 and 2).  I was quite excited and couldn't wait to review it.   Rock "n Learn created a fun and exciting way to teach your children phonics. Along with various rhythmic rap and rock music, the steady and controlled beat encourages your little ones to memorize everything. With both volumes 1 and 2   of the Rock 'N Learn Phonics DVD's your children will learn everything about short and long vowels, beginning consonants, word families, silent e, plurals, diphthongs, sentence practice, common sight words and more. 

When viewing the Rock 'N Learn Phonics the first thing that captured Sophia's attention was the animated characters and of course the "on-screen mouth" which lets students check their reading and pronunciation. I love how they introduce the vowels and make them into a song, which Sophia was repeating on a constant basis. The music is quite engaging, easy to repeat and I even started to sing along with the characters. It is nice that you can control the pace, which can be controlled by your little one so they can really learn and master the skills. There are read along stories and fun songs on the DVD's as well, a great way to keep them occupied. This is completely kid friendly and encourages kids to learn on their own, but I am a mommy that likes to participate with the little one, it just makes it fun.

I highly recommend both Rock 'N Learn DVD's Volume 1 and 2 to everyone.  They are perfect for teachers and home schooling parents. They have great a selection for children of all ages. SugarBooger Vintage Alphabet Lunch Sack by ORE Review!

Well it is that time again, when we are preparing for our Back to School shopping. Yes, summer fun is almost over and done and now it is time to get back into the real fun of everything; which is shopping for school supplies and lots more. So why not show them a couple of products I know they would love.

As always, I love browsing the internet for new and exciting products. I was searching for the right lunch box for the little Sophia and saw one, but of course, she did not like that one. So, when I came across this unique Vintage Alphabet Lunch Sack By Ore, I literally had to stop and look at it again. I called the little one to take a peek and she says she loves it. The lovely people from Ore immediately sent over a beautiful lunch sack. This beautiful laminated cotton canvas lunch sack is fully covered with the Alphabet and insulated as well. It is great for any child to practice and master their ABC's during lunch time or any time they carry it with them. It has a hook-and-loop closure and inside you will find an interior card for identification to put your child's picture and name. Very cool!  There is an easy handle strap for those little hands and most of all the lunch sack is easy to clean. Just wipe and clean away.

What I love about the lunch sack is that Sophia was singing the ABC song the entire time and then searching and pointing to the letters. She was deeply involved in it. To top it off, the minute her friend across the street came to play, Sophia showed her the lunch sack and she wanted it too. Funny how kids see something and immediately want it. LOL.

Just another day to bake a cake!

Well, don't you have those days, where you just feel like baking something. This particular day, not any special day or anything, I felt like baking a cake with the little one. Oh, you should have seen the look on Sophia's face when I mentioned it was time for a cake bake. She was very excited and was ready to bake the cake.

We started out getting all of our supplies:

Mixer

Chocolate Cake Mix (Love it, don't get me wrong, I make my own cake from scratch too, LOL)

Eggs

Apple sauce (substitution for the vegetable oil)

Water

Strawberries

Red Sprinkles (she loves this a lot)

Now, we gather all of our supplies together and start to pour everything in a large bowl. With the help of my wonderful assistant, everything went pretty smoothly. She started to help me mix the batter, it looked absolutely yummy.  Then, into my baking pan I poured all the smooth chocolate batter. I placed the pan in a pre-heated oven of 350 degrees. Now, we just have to wait for it to bake.

While it was baking Sophia had some fun licking the spatula and her face was full of chocolate. I told her she looks like she has chocolate lipstick on. Once, she was done, we started to clean up the mess we made. When everything was finally clean, we were ready to take a peek at the cake and yes, it was baking pretty well. Every 2 minutes, I hear a voice calling me "Mama, the cake is getting bigger". She was literally sitting in front of the oven, staring at the cake. I was just laughing how funny that was.

Finally, the cake was done. We placed it on the stove to cool down. Then it was time to place the frosting on the cake. Sophia's favorite part. She was really a professional at it. Can't you tell? LOL. We wanted to add something extra to the cake. Sophia wanted her favorite red sprinkles, so that was added on top of the cake. To top it off we placed some fresh delicious strawberries on the cake and in the center. Voila! What do you think? Does that look yummy?  Now it was time for a slice for us to eat.  mmmmh, delicious :).   Why don't you stop what your doing and go and bake a cake or something delicious!   Happy baking and come back for more fun recipes.
