Mother's Day Painted Vases!

I am back and this time I have an even better surprise and craft idea that you will absolutely love!  Now I can show you all how to make those pretty Mother's Day Vases. I love flowers, it makes your house look great, smell wonderful and refreshing. And, to top it off with your own handmade painted vases.  What can be better then that?  As most of you already know, Sophia loves to paint and since mother's day is around the corner why not have her paint vases and give it to me on mother's day along with some magnificent flowers.  Now, that your all excited about my idea, lets begin with the tutorial.
Supplies we need
Empty Glass jars or bottles (used spaghetti sauce bottles, soda bottles or any kind you like)
Glossy Enamel paint (glass paint; read instruction carefully at the back- any color you want)
Paint Brushes
Glass filled with water to place your brushes
Newspaper or old sheet (to cover our working area)
Apron (Don't forget that, especially with little ones around)
Big happy face
First, we start off by making sure we have everything at hand for the painted vases.  Make sure you remove all necessary labels from the jars/bottles and have them cleaned and dried off.  Sophia was so excited and could not wait to start. So, I wrapped the apron around her immediately just to prevent a big mess.  We sure don't want to clean all that paint off her clothes.  Sophia reached for the biggest vase and started to paint the entire glass surface.  The vase started to come alive and looked really pretty. By looking at the picture, she looked like a future artist.
Make sure to hold the jars/bottles by the mouth to avoid touching any wet paint or area.  Create your own design such as polka dots, various shapes (stars, diamonds, squares and so on) make it your own and use as many colors as you like, alternate the colors if necessary.  You can even create a beautiful custom dress for the soda bottle to wear.  That will definitely stand out and will look unique.  Sophia was quite active with painting her jar and vase so she end up mixing most of the paints together.  So, take a look at the soda bottle painted dress.  Doesn't it look fabulous?  Now, you can experience it yourself and repeat the process until you have all the jars and bottles painted.
Once, the bottles/jars/vase are painted, let the them dry off outside or any other area.  When they are completely dry, head over to your flower bed in your yard and pick out some beautiful flowers and place it in your painted vase, or you can go to store and pick out fresh flowers as well. Better yet, hint to Daddy how much you would love some flowers for Mother's Day.  And voila, you have created a beautiful craft piece for any mommy to enjoy on Mother's Day and beyond!
Sophia was so excited to do this project that she headed to the store with Daddy and picked out some roses for mommy to place in her own painted vase, which she painted for mommy.   It melted my heart to see her actively working on this project and I will definitely treasure this moment for forever.  Now, to all your wonderful mommies out there, I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day and enjoy this wonderful craft project with your children.  This can be made for any other special event, so start your special project right now.

I hope you enjoyed it! Come and visit me again and see what else we have in store for you all.
Sincerely,
