For some reason, I felt the need to bake something. So, I turned to my favorite little girl and she said, how about if we make some cupcakes. I looked at her and said, what kind of cupcakes? With her most excited face, she replied sprinkle cupcakes. And that is what we ended up making. Not just sprinkle cupcakes, but with some color to it.
I had a box of cupcake mix in the pantry and prepared the batter, with my lovely assistant. I poured the batter in various bowls and asked Sophia to help me pour some food coloring in each of the bowls. By the look on her face, she sure enjoyed it. Now, we are ready to pre-heat the oven to the right temperature.
Next, we were ready to pour the colorful mixture of batter in the cupcake pan and placed it in the oven. Then came the time to wait for the cupcakes to bake. Tick, tock, tick, tock. Sophia waited by the oven calling out every few minutes, that they are getting bigger mama. She sure put a smile on my face. I stuck a toothpick in the center and it came out clear so I knew the cupcakes were ready. We took them out of the oven and let them cool down.
Can't have cupcakes without the icing, so off to make some homemade icing with a little bit of food color. So, now we have different color icing. These cupcakes will be too cute to eat, yeah right! Not for Sophia, she loves icing and will gobble it up.
Place the icing in some sandwich baggies and snip the end with some scissors. Squeeze the icing on top of each cupcake. Next, it was Sophia's turn to pour the sprinkles on top of the cupcakes. Looking forward to this moment, Sophia reached for the red sprinkles and poured it all over the cupcakes. Finally, it was time to take a big bite and eat it with joy. Here you have our Tasty Sprinkle Cupcakes.
